Location
Sekenani camp is located 6km east of the main gate to the Maasai Mara reserve. It is built in the riverine forest that surrounds the source of the Sekenani river.
Access
Sekenani camp is 90km from Narok town and 250km from Nairobi.  The drive time from Nairobi is about 4 to 5 hours, depending on traffic. For those wishing to go by air the closest airstrip is at Keekorok. The flight from Nairobi takes about fifty minutes. The Maasai Mara is linked by scheduled air services to Nairobi, the coast and other destinations within Kenya.
Game viewing is the primary reason and one of the activities for most people to visit the reserve. However, many people also enjoy going for a bush walk escorted by our Maasai guides. The hills behind the camp are the highest in all of the Mara and the view of the surrounding county side is simply spectacular. We also have bush dinners and sun downers which can be pre-arranged as per clients’ needs. Balloon safaris and a visit to Maasai village can also be organised.
Accommodation
The camp accommodation comprises of 15 well-appointed tents, each with a full-length bathtub. The tents are separated from the restaurant and bar by a suspension bridge across the Sekenani river, and in such a way to ensure complete privacy. The public areas are in a large tent-like structure with canvas sides which are rolled up during the day. In the evenings a campfire on the veranda is the focal point for guests who enjoy drinks and exchange stories before dinner. We also have internet access available.
Facilities
The bar stocks a wide range of international and local brands. The kitchen produces delicious fresh meals with many ingredients harvested from our own organic vegetable garden. The garden is not only a source of fresh vegetables for our consumption but also serves as an example to our community. Since inception, we have paid meticulous attention to maintain the environment. Each tent has total privacy and seclusion from other tents. This approach to privacy has earned Sekenani Camp a reputation for being one of the most romantic destinations and accommodation in the Maasai Mara.
