Jacaranda Beach Resort Watamu
Location
The resort covers an area of almost 25.000 sq.m on the beach of Jacaranda Bay. The 130 rooms overlook the tropical garden and the sea, with a beach of over 160 meters. African-style buildings with the characteristic makuti roofs, the Arab constructions that contrast with the blue of the sky and the villas on the beach with their rooms with sea view. The main services of the resort are strategically located and all close at hand but there is no lack of privacy. Together with the Jumbo resort, it offers a range of services and opportunities that has no equal on our coastal area.
Accommodation
At the Jacaranda Resort there is something for everyone. From classic accommodations to exclusive privilege rooms, family rooms, apartments and an ocean suite. These solutions can accommodate up to 5 adults or a family. The spaces are comfortable and the furniture is made by local traditional artisans.
Classic
Never smaller than 40 square meters, can accommodate from one to 4 people. They are located in the middle of our Tropical garden in a 2-level building in Arabian style or in a classic Swahili building with a makuti roof.
Sultan apartments
On 3 levels, they overlook one of the pools. Ideal for large families and groups of friends. They have 2 communicating bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room and verandas or balconies on the 2 sides. They measure about 90sq.m.
The residence
Located in a quiet area near the beach, with two large bedrooms and two bathrooms, they can accommodate up to 5 people. They offer large size verandas or balconies.
Privilege
All located in front of the beach, or in any case very close, the 50 units are the perfect solution for an exclusive holiday. The main facilities of the resort are within walking distance. They have large outdoor spaces and they are disposed on one or two levels. They can accommodate up to 4 people. In Arabic or African style, on one or two levels, they are the best solution for a holiday at the Jacaranda resort. Each building has its name and its charisma: Lama. Villa Sabaki, Villa Galana, Jack superior.
Ocean suite
On the upper floor of Villa Galana, it offers a breathtaking view of the sea and absolute privacy. Furnished with authentic local antiques, it is ideal for couples, honeymoons, and romantic getaways.
Ville Mare garden view
They are located in the Villa Galana and Villa Sabaki complexes. They can accommodate up to 4 people and some of them have a side sea view. These rooms represent an intermediate solution between the Classic and the Privilege, even if they share with them the wonderful location.
Dining
Fresh and organic products from the land and the sea of Kenya. Vegetables, fish, meat and of course wonderful fruits: mango, papaya, etc. To taste these fruits will be a surprise for those who are used to the imported ones in Europe. Our chefs simply enhance the taste of what is already good. A touch of Italy, international recipes and a wink to the local cuisine. Everyone can choose whether to continue with the home food habits or discover something new in the restaurants of Jacaranda & Jumbo resort.
Kuku restaurant
This is the main restaurant of the Jacaranda resort, with buffet service, show cooking and grill. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; enjoy the panoramic sea view and the main pool.
Special dinners
The best products from the Indian Ocean: lobsters, shrimps and giant crabs. Reserve a dinner choosing between our special menus and between our locations, the Beach Restaurant or the gazebo by the pool.
Jumbo main restaurant
This is the Jumbo Resort’s main restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering the same services of the Jacaranda resort. In addition to a large hall, it offers a large open space in a tropical garden.
Activities
If you don’t want to sit around doing nothing (an option that’s always on the table here), there is a lot of things to do. There are games and sports activities organized by our local team, who’s speaking Italian and other languages. The same team offers everyday an evening entertainment program from cabaret to dance competitions. Africa is present with three weekly shows and a Sunday gospel mass. Saturday night beach party and piano bars during the happy hour.
Our team
We are proud of our staff, captivating and discreet at the same time. Whether it’s a sports tournament, an “aperitif game”, a Swahili language lesson, the presentation of a show with local artists, they always know what they’re doing and in all anguages. They come from a local school that every year prepares new recruits and perfects veterans, who are supervised by professionals with over 20 years of experience in Italian and international schools. Some of them take care of the younger guests.
Sports
For those who love physical activity even on holiday, they can choose between relaxing gymnastic lessons, frenetic aqua aerobics lesson and beach volleyball tournaments, in one of the three pitches within the resort. There are also fitness and cardio activities directed by experts. And yet you can range from a game of bowls played on the beach to water polo.
Kiting
The Jacaranda Bay beach is the ideal place for kiting. In 300 meters there is a club that organizes courses and rents equipment. For scuba diving lovers, the instructor of the Watamu school periodically visits the hotel giving lessons for beginners and organising open water excursions for experts. Outside the hotel are also available: horse riding, mini golf and a large 18-hole international golf course at Vipingo ridge.
Spa
Located between Jacaranda and Jumbo Resorts, a few meters from the beach, it offers a full range of treatments and massages. From traditional African treatments to more elaborate oriental massages and couple massages. In an intimate and elcoming environment, cuddled by a friendly and highly trained staff.
Pools
There are 6 large-size pools between the Jacaranda resort, Jumbo resort and the villas, where you can either enjoy the resort life or spend some time in peace and quiet solitude. In the pools there are Jacuzzi tubes and spaces suitable for children, but they can also be the perfect setting for a candlelit dinner. The pools have sea water and large solariums equipped with sun-beds. The quieter corner of the resort, with a 250 square meter swimming pool and an 80 square meter Jacuzzi, surrounded by a tropical garden, is the best place to watch the sunset. One more reason to book a vacation in the villas.
