Mara Elatia Camp

Nestled in the peaceful north western plains. Elatia, meaning the good neighbour in Maa, rests a 12 tented camp gracefully perched along the Oloololo escarpment of the Maasai Mara. Elatia is an easily accessible luxury camp set on the interlocking hills of the Mara triangle and offers impressive panoramic views, indulgent amenities and specially organised wilderness activities to help you revel in the marvel of Maasai Mara and its ecosystem. The camp overlooks the Mara river which is famous for the annual wildbeest migration between the months of July and September and faces Kalema hills where the epic movie Out of Africa was filmed.

Accommodation

The sophisticated tented camp offers a relaxing breather experiences in the wild only found at the escarpment. With 12 tents available to the guests with modern ensuite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, rain shower and a private balcony.

Rhino sanctuary

Located in Maasai Mara you will find this local community conservation project that has been protecting the white rhino for the past 20 years. Approach the Rhino in the safest way possible as it lives freely in the mountain. The sanctuary awaits you. With only 27,000 rhinos left in the world, we do not take these alluring creatures for granted. Elatia can organise a special once in a lifetime rhino sanctuary visit for some one-on-one time with these regal animals.

Bush meals & sundowners

The culinary skills are not just limited to dining at the camp, you can enjoy all our gourmet meals in the wilderness too. Soak in all of Mara’s magical savannah over breakfast, lunch or dinner; or maybe with a cold cocktail in hand as you watch the sun set into the African vista.

Game drives

Hot air balloon

Early morning rise, before the sun is up. Into the baskets and up up and away you go. The spectacular aerial views of the Mara are truly breath-taking. Most definitely one for the bucket list.

Farm visit

Pastoralists and herders by nature, the Masaai at Elatia boast a beautiful collection of cattle you can visit, to better understand how they care for them; always connecting their livelihoods to the land. Ankole cows have a special place with us too, known for
their incredible jumping abilities, and majestic horns.
